Private Line Service provides dedicated, point-to-point, unprotected or protected circuits to carry voice, data or video traffic between customer locations. Service is provided over a SONET backbone using dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical networking equipment to support the high bandwidth services. Service is available in access speeds of DS-3, OC-3/STM-1, OC-12/STM-4, OC-48/STM-16, and OC-192/STM-64. OC-3/STM-1 to OC-192/STM-64 circuits are terminated on an optical patch panel; DS-3 circuits are terminated on an electrical patch panel.
Ethernet point-to-point service is also available delivering data at speeds of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps (Fast Ethernet), and 1,000 Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet).
Wavelength Service is a point-to-point, unprotected fiber optic service available in 2.5 or 10 Gbps channels. This service can handle a variety of traffic types: voice, video, IP data, and cell based ATM traffic. Circuits are terminated on an optical patch panel using SC connectors.
